Responsibilities
- Organize and maintain the corporate collection of proprietary compound samples.
- Dispense samples for biological testing.
- Register samples into corporate compound collection.
- Maintain sample inventory system.
- Responsible for liquid handling automation including operation and process development.
- Support and assist in various laboratory functions including sample analysis and purification and equipment maintenance.
- Support document management needs to include scientific literature searches and retrieval, literature organization, patent file management, and library organization.
- Implement technology solutions in support of drug discovery needs..
- Support the maintenance of key information databases..
- Develop web-based interfaces to support discovery research efforts.
- Perform related duties, special projects and/or other functions as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, biology or engineering with 2-5 years related experience is required. Past laboratory experience a plus.
- Strong computer skills are required.
- Knowledge of how to use complex databases and informatics systems (Oracle, ChemCart, ISIS, Pipeline Pilot, etc.).
- Experience using scientific analytical instrumentation.
- Demonstrated outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in the use and programming of laboratory automation such as liquid handling technology a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to work in a dynamic research team environment.
- Good process development skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, manage multiple priorities, exercise sound judgement, be well organized, take initiative, be flexible, work well under pressure and produce accurate and timely work.
